Hundreds of visitors walked through the doors of Scream last week to see for themselves The Active Resistance Portraits featured in the Vivienne Westwood Opus.

After seeing the Opus featured on the Jonathan Ross Friday Night TV show and then on the cover of the Sunday Times Style Magazine admirers from all over the country descended on the gallery in Bruton Street to see the original Polaroids and take the opportunity to turn the giant pages of the Opus itself.

Thirty-five of the ninety-six Polaroids reproduced in the Opus were on display including portraits of Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, Laura Bailey, Erin O’Connor, Helena Bonham-Carter and Tim Burton.

Zenon Texeira who photographed Westwood’s friends for the Opus was delighted by the reception his images received, “The s is perfect at Scream and the Polaroids hit you as soon as you walk in. Visitors are flowing in and after experiencing the power of the 20×24 Polaroids are leaving here in awe and disbelief. Seeing the Polaroids displayed so beautifully in this venue at the end of what has become a two year project is great reward. I’ve been speaking to the public whilst they’ve wandered around, from fashion students and photographers to art lovers and tourists, they all love the show. It appeals to so many different people on so many different levels, from a photographic portrait perspective or simply seeing close-ups of the worlds most famous models without the help of an airbrush”.
