Celtic marked the 40th anniversary of the club’s legendary European Cup triumph last month and Opus Media Group PLC was there to enjoy the celebrations. As one of the star-studded evenings official sponsors, Opus Media Group PLC was in the thick of the action at the club’s Parkhead Stadium in Glasgow as hundreds of guests were given a sneak preview of the forthcoming Celtic Opus.

Opus Media Group PLC creative director Zenon Texeira was the man behind the Polaroid 20×24 Studio camera at Parkhead to capture the surviving members of the famous ‘Lisbon Lions’ the Celtic side that famously lifted the 1967 European Cup after beating Inter Milan in the Estadio Nacional and the evening proved to be a huge success.

Celebrity Celtic fans were very much in evidence, with Jim Kerr of Simple Minds performing to the guests after a sumptuous dinner at the ground.

‘The evening was a who’s who of Celtic greats,’ said Texeira. ‘Billy McNeill, the captain of the 1967 side, was there and many more of the Lisbon Lions and their families.’

‘I took hundreds of photos of the players and the other guests. Jim Kerr was obviously delighted to have had the chance to perform at his beloved Parkhead. He said to me ‘I’ve played Las Vegas, Wembley, New York and LA and now I’ve played in paradise.’

Kerr was one of hundreds of those who attended the evening to preorder a copy of the Celtic Opus which will be published in February 2008.

Over 750 pages long, the Opus will celebrate the club’s glorious history from its humble formation in 1887 in St Mary’s Church Hall, the heroics of the Lisbon Lions and Jock Stein, through to the modern era and the successes of Martin O’Neill and Gordon Strachan.
