The concept of the project was to create a limited edition Opus that would tell the story of the cars that Bernie had collected over the decades that held special meaning to him. For the first time, Bernie arranged for his entire collection to be photographed by the Opus team and we wanted to capture the portraits and personalities of the cars in a unique way. The iconic Polaroid 20×24 Land camera was used to do this. A very rare film camera that produced glorious detailed photographs on a giant and dynamic scale right in front of our eyes. Macro photography of the cars would enhance each chapter providing a secondary level of detail that concentrated on special styling and innovative features of each car.

Recording Memories

Bernie asked his life-long friends, Luca di Montezemolo and Gordon Murray to work alongside him in curating and sharing their thoughts and memories of the cars in his collection. Together an entertaining insight into each car’s triumphs and achievements have been gathered.
