Celebrating Sporting Greatness
The Opus Team are steadily getting one to one time with Laureus Academy Members to interview and photograph them exclusively for the Laureus Opus.
In November the team met up with Laureus Chairman, Edwin Moses, in London and spoke to him about his career in athletics and his dominance in the 400 metre hurdles which saw him 999 consecutive races. Edwin spoke about the success and challenges he faced as a young competitor when he announced himself on the world stage, winning gold at the 1976 Montreal Olympics. A pioneer in sport, Edwin further discussed the rule changes he almost single-handedly brought about to allow amerteur sportsmen and women to receive financial help from sponsors as well as his crusade to initiate out of competition drug testing to combat the use of performance enhancing drugs.
The team have been interviewing and photographing icons from all eras in recent months including Serbian tennis ace, Novak Djokovic, and German ice queen, Katarina Witt.
