Fernando Alonso produced a quite remarkable drive in the heat of Valencia this past weekend to secure his second win of the year and further extend his lead in the Drivers’ Championship.
Despite struggling with the car throughout practice and only qualifying in 11th, Alonso produced a drive which balanced aggression and caution to progress through the field.
Helped by the correct strategy from Stefano Domenicali and his Ferrari team, Alonso’s win capped off a fantastic weekend for Ferrari, Italy and Spain respectively following their progress in the European Football Championships.
