Royal Albert Hall
The ‘East Meet West’ collaboration at the Royal Albert Hall allowed music lovers to indulge themselves during the Jubilee bank holiday. Song Zuying and Lang Lang joined Andrea Bocelli to perform much loved songs that sometimes delivered a surprise twist as ballads were sung in both English and Chinese. Supported by The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, The Royal Philharmonic Chorus and The Royal Choral Society, the evening proved to be a magnificent success and thrilled a sell out audience.
Capturing the day exclusively for The Official Andrea Bocelli Opus was Zenon Texeira, Creative Director OMG. Roaming the corridors backstage of the Royal Albert Hall during rehersals and the evening performance gives a wonderful insight into the excitement and adreneline experienced by all in one of London’s most iconic venues.
Zenon commented, “The intamacy of the Royal Albert Hall allows me to get very close to the performers which wouldn’t happen in many other locations. The relaxed mood of the artists combined with the cooperation of the stage management team allowed me to be on stage with the main protagonists whilst they rehearsed. I found myself inches away from Andre Bocelli’s microphone when he was in full flow and then climbing into the heart of Lang Lang’s open grand piano as he passionately accompanied the tenor. The images captured illustrate both the fun and professionalism of all concerned and together create a unique collection of images celebrating East Meets West!”
